WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO SINCE I'VE BEEN M.I.A

Hey y'all. Oh my god, I cannot believe I haven't posted in so long. I swear I've been meaning to but I've found it hard to find the motivation, you know?

I genuinely have not been up to much! I'm the most boring person. However, I have been to Sydney 3 times in the last 2 months for concerts. First was Robbie William's. All I can say is, holy crap, it was so much more than just a performance. He has such charisma that I haven't seen from any other artist in a very long time. I went with my Mum and my 2 Aunties and it was a blast. I throughly enjoyed myself and I would 100% go see him again.

Second was the one and only, Taylor Swift. My life was absolutely made that evening. She was performing at ANZ Stadium to over 76,000 people. Insane or what? I've been a massive fan of Tswizzle for such a long time now and it just made me so happy finally getting to see her. I took my 12 year old cousin, Grace, with me and I had amazing seats! We were on the floor, right near the walkway part of the stage. You could tell taylor was just in awe at how many people were there singing her songs. It was amazing, although I'm a tiny bit disappointed that she didn't sing any of her country stuff :'(

Last, but not least, Sam Smith. This man truly has the voice of an angel. When he sung my favourite song, Not In That Way, it legitimately moved me to tears. He is such a cute human being and I wanted to wrap him up and take him home. I simply could not wipe the smile off my face all night and neither could he! You could just tell that he was so grateful for everything.

I'll also be starting a new job in 5 days! Talk about stressful! But, I definitely think it's time for a change. Ive been in my current job since I was 15 (I'm now 19) and it's time to move on and explore other opportunities! I'll let y'all know how it goes.

That's pretty much all I can think of that has happened that is worth telling y'all. See, told you I'm boring.

I hope y'all are all ready for Christmas and are getting in the spirit of the holidays X

MY NEW TATTOO!

Hey Y'all….
Long time, no post, right? Its been too long! I've been a bit here, there and everywhere lately.

This Tuesday that just passed was my birthday! And what better way to celebrate than getting a brand new tattoo. Although, I had to wait till Thursday to get it because of work and all that jazz! I managed to convince my friend, Tom, to come get one with me too. It was Tom's first tattoo, so I decided to go first. We thought mine would take about 2 hours….yeah, no, not quite. 3 hours later and some serious pain later…I was done.

When I say serious pain, I don't really mean it. It was really the last half an hour of it that started to hurt purely because the tattoo artist, Dosa, was just going back over parts that he had already done. That was really the only time it started to hurt. The worst part of it all was having to lay still for 3hrs!!!! It was literally killing me! All I wanted to do by the 2 hour mark was get up and go run around the block. I am the most fidgety person ever, so having to lay there for 3 hours was absolute torture.

Then it was Tom's turn. He ended up getting something to do with one of his favourite bands, The Amity Affliction. His only took about an hour to an hour and a half.

I got my tattoo in memory of my Grandad. He always loved wolves and some of his last words to me were about how beautiful I looked in my grubby muscle tank that had a giant wolf on it.

The way I perceive this design may be completely different to how you, or someone else, may see it. The way I like to look at it is the aztecy-tribal side is the spiritual side. And the insanely detailed side that looks like a real wolf, is the physical side. Whilst I will always have physical memories of my grandad, it also calms me to think that there is a spiritual side of him too.

I would like to give a massive shout out and thank you to Dosa & Tattoo Xtreme for the amazing work and detail that you did. I'd like to add, that while Dosa had a very basic outline of the wolf on me, he did most of the detail free-hand. Dosa is an absolute legend.

If you would like to know the pricing, or anything other details, just comment.

TRAVEL DIARY : THE AMAZING SWISS ALPS

Hey y'all. So we arrived at our campsite just down from the village in Lauterbrunnen in the afternoon after a very long bus ride! We got sorted into our cute little cabins, which weren't so cute when I realised there was no air-conditioning. How was I ever going to survive?! We also found out that we had to use communal showers and toilets. Now, I was so not looking forward to this given I have stayed in some dodgy hostels before, but I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of them!
Our campsite even had an onsite bar, which y'all can imagine we all hit up after dinner.

At this particular stop, we had our very own Topdeck 'cook tent' where the was a team of Topdeck staff that would be preparing us a 3 course meal for dinner for the next two evenings, and not to mention breakfast as well!

Before heading to the bar, a group of us made a giant trek up to a waterfall that was just above where we were staying. The climb was super steep and at one point I was just gonna give up, but I was glad I didn't because the view from behind the waterfall was absolutely stunning! We were up there just after dusk and it was simply beautiful.

DAY 2:

Steph and I were up super early to jump straight into the showers and get ready for the day. Only we both had to having freezing cold showers because we forgot our coins to pay for the hot water! Talk about first world problems.

Today we headed from Lauterbrunnen, up the mountain to Jungfraujoch where we could play in the snow all day! It was about 2 hours up on the train (roughly, I think it was shorter than that). When we first jumped off we all got a bit chilly and popped our jumpers and what not on. Within about half an hour of us all being in the snowing doing stuff, we were all pretty much back in tshirts! It was boiling and Steph even got sunburnt.

While others headed back down to go skydiving, a group of us stayed up on the mountain enjoying the activities. I snowboarded (and majorly stacked it) and pretty much all us girls did the tubing and sledding. It was just the absolute best fun! Steph and I wandered up to do the zip lining a little later and I was super hesitant, given my crippling fear of heights, but i sucked it up and popped the harness on and headed up. As soon as we got up to the top where we zip down, I pretty much instantly had a panic attack and given the altitude, it was already hard to breathe so the panic attack didn't do much to help! So obviously I climbed back down and didn't end up doing it. But you know what, just the fact that I climbed up there was huge for me, so I was fine with not doing it. Baby steps.

I watched Steph zip down and it looked awesome! She said she loved it!

Snowboarding injury!

That evening, we hung out at the bar for a little bit before going and hanging out with Natalie, Lauren and Mel in their cabin and chatted and laughed and had a grand ol' time!

DAY 3:

After packing our stuff back up and having breakfast, we jumped back on our trusty bus with Victor and headed to Avignon, which was another lengthy trip, but thats for the next post!

MY IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIALS PT 2: What I actually used!

Hey y'all. Before I jetsetted off to Europe, I made a post about my in-flight essentials and what I would be taking on board with me and what not. Well…lets just say I took a lot, however, I barely used any of it! Lets have a read of what I did use…

iPod & Phone - So this was obviously a given. If I'm going on long haul flights, I just simply have to have my iPod. However, my phone died but Etihad's planes do come equipped with charging points in your seat! Woohoo!

Kindle - I legit do not go anywhere without my kindle! I take it everywhere with me, so it only made sense to obviously use it on the plane. When I wasn't jamming to John Mayer, I can guarantee you that I was reading.

Neck Pillow - Now this was one that pissed me off a little bit, but I was glad I had it. I find them extremely uncomfortable to use properly, so I pulled out my tray table, put the pillow on it and went to sleep! It wasn't overly great positioning, but it was better than getting no sleep at all!

Snacks - Okay wasn't a huge fan of the meals that we got given, so I was extremely glad I brought snacks on with me otherwise I would've been starving!

Jacket - I was 100% correct in saying that it would get chilly! Although, Etihad do provide you with blankets, I used that as extra cushioning for my butt, so my jacket definitely came in handy!

Hat - An extremely awesome looking Trixin hat to be precise. I was so excited to be taking this hat on holidays and reaping such an amazingly sweet brand! Anyway, it was super useful to just pull my hat down over my head if I wanted some darkness or just wanted to nap!

Side Note: If y'all wanna buy some pretty awesome, well made and well designed clothing from some radical people, check out TRIXIN CLOTHING. I can 110% say you won't be disappointed. Check out their Youtube channel too!

TRAVEL DIARY: 3 DAYS IN PARIS

Hey y'all. I don't really remember where I left off in Paris on the end of my London post and I'm kind of on a roll and don't really feel like sifting through posts again! Lazy, I know. So imma just start from when we got off the ferry from Dover & arrived in Calais.

DAY 1:

Once we arrived in Calais, we all assembled and then our Topdeck bus came around the corner and the first thing I noticed that the guy driving it was extremely attractive. We then met Victor; our extremely attractive, romanian bus driver. All I was thinking at the time was 'this is gonna be a great 21 days'.

It was about a 3-4 hour bus drive from Calais to Paris. We arrived at our hotel and were paired up with our roomies for the next 2 nights. Steph and I were roomed with two other girls, Jess and Mai, who were a bit older than us. Little did we know that those two girls would become our closest friends on the trip. Once we settled in a bit, we went downstairs and headed out to dinner. We walked to the restaurant as it was only across the road. The first dinner we had as a group, we sat with a Kiwi couple, Bec & Jason, and we got to know each other. Again, little did we know that they would also become 2 of our closest pals.

The dinner was beautiful. They even brought out escargot for us to try. I 110% did not try the snails. No way will anyone ever get me to eat those. After that, we jumped on our bus and began our City Lights Tour. It sounds fancy, but it really wasn't. We just got driven around Paris at night. So kinda sweet, yeah, but it was raining pretty hard too.

DAY 2:

The next day was a free day for us. We got to spend the day roaming around Paris. Steph and I caught the metro in and went straight to The Louvre. Now, my little piece of advice to anyone who is ever considering going to The Lourve: 1) GO EARLY! I cannot stress that enough. We went at about 11am and it was already hectic. 2) Please DO NOT underestimate the sheer size of the place. Like, it is bloody ginormous. We got lost for 2 hours trying to find the Mona Lisa, which is supposed to be the easier thing to find!

After spending what felt like all day at the museum, we started adventuring. From The Lourve, we walked all the up the Champs-Elysees, got photos at the Arc de Triomphe, walked all the way back down, then I thought it would be a mighty fine idea to trek all the way from there up to the Notre Dame in 30 degree heat. Yeah, silly move. Anyone who's been to Paris knows how far of a bloody hike that is! We were so tired by the time we got there, all we did was take a couple photos, then got a tuk tuk man to drive us back down the the Eiffel Tower.

Once we got to the Eiffel Tower, I was speechless. It is exactly like how you see it in the movies and tumblr pictures. It's amazing. Maybe thats just me, because it's always been my dream to go to Paris, but I was in awe. I decided to sit down under a tree and read my book while Steph went and took some photos. I was so happy in just that moment. Sitting in a place I had always dreamed about, doing the one thing I just love to do. It was blissful.

After we chilled, we met up with the rest of our new family for a picnic dinner under the Eiffel Tower. Food wasn't overly great, but the view was stunning. Later on, we split up into a couple groups as some went to the cabaret,, some went back to the hotel and Steph, Jess, Mai, Nick & I all went on a night cruise down The River Seine. It was absolutely stunning, but the boat was packed with noisy tourists all trying to get the perfect shot.

 DAY 3:

So today wasn't really much of a day as we waved goodbye to Paris early that morning and spent the rest of the day on the bus to the Swiss Alps.

That's it for Paris homies. I'm trying to keep it as short and sweet as possible because I know I will get carried away with my typing and what not.

I am also trying to figure out the best way to upload all my photos to here! If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

TRAVEL DIARY: 4 DAYS IN ENGLAND

Hey y'all,
So I say 4 days in England, but it was really 4 days in London and an uneventful day trip to Brighton! Never the less, I was extremely excited to be in the UK. We arrived at about 10pm at London Heathrow and caught a cab from there to Wombats Hostel in Whitechapel where we would be spending the next 3 nights. Little did we know it was going to cost us, altogether, 100 pound! I had only taken out 200 pound in Australia. At the time, we just didn't even care. It was late and we were tired and we just wanted to chill.

DAY 1:

We woke up the next morning to about 10 minutes of sun before it started bucketing down with rain. This was expected though. However, we didn't think it was going to be that heavy! It ended up absolutely pouring! We shrugged it off and kept going. We met up with Steph's (who I travelled with) family friend and she took us around for the day. We didn't see too many sights in London because the weather was so drab.

We went and watched the changing of the guards, and in the space of about 5 minutes, my phone got bloody pick pocketed! Can you believe it? Just my luck that on our first day in London my phone gets stolen! Of course I freaked out for about 20 minutes and called my mum back in Australia and got her to do the whole 'Find My iPhone' thing, but that didn't work. As you can imagine, I was freaking out, so of course this brought on a panic attack. I breathed my way threw it, told myself it's only a phone and it can be replaced and moved on with my day. I did however, end up buying a cheap little prepaid phone just so I can use the internet and contact home, but that stopped working after about a day. So me being me, the typical, impatient person I am, chucked it out.

We spent a lot of the first day shopping on Regent St, I think it's called. I swear, to work in any of the big name stores there, it has to be a prerequisite that you look like a model. Am I right? Or are british people just uber attractive?

DAY 2:

This morning we woke up and it was so warm and sunny and so we thought today would be the perfect day to take the train to Brighton and explore all it has to offer. What an absolute joke that was! We were on the train about half way to Brighton when it absolutely started to pelt down with rain. We thought it would ease up but boy were we wrong. We hopped off at Brighton Station and spent the next hour in a cafe in the station waiting for the next train back to London. The weather was absolutely horrific! Not only was it raining heavy, it was blowing a gale too! Steph and I decided it just wasn't worth it. I was pretty disappointed seeing as I was so excited for Brighton but I know I would've been super cranky if I was walking around soaking wet!

DAY 3:

The weather today was rainy, but it wasn't too heavy and it was on and off. Steph and I decided to do one of those Hop On- Hop Off buses and see all the sights London had to offer. It was simply amazing learning about the history and the architecture. We jumped off at Regent St. for lunch at Nandos and to do some more shopping! It was in the time that I found what is my new favourite store in the whole entire world…Waterstones. Yes, yes, I am aware it is just a giant bookstore with stationary and what not BUT HOLY CRAP! I was needing hardcore! I literally wanted to buy one of everything. It was all so beautiful. It was like it was whispering to me "Buy me….Buy me!". It got to the point where I was needing too hard and it got super overwhelming that I was so in love with this store and I nearly started to cry (loser, I know) and I had to quickly buy my things and run out. If I hadn't, I would never have left!

DAY 4:

Our day started at 4.30am as we had to be downstairs, in the lobby of our hostel at 6am to meet everyone on our Topdeck Tour! It's safe to say that we were both extremely nervous at meeting everyone and scoping them all out. Of course the first thing we try and see is if there are any hotties. No Zac Efron's unfortunately, but we can't all be perfect. We were then chucked on a bus with everyone where we drove from London to Dover to take the ferry over to Calais. This was where we said goodbye to London and England itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time there and it absolutely certain that we will be going back!

TRAVEL UPDATE : WHY IVE DISAPPEARED!

Hey y'all
Omg, you have no idea how good it feels to be writing a post! The plan was to keep y'all updated on my adventures throughout my trip to Europe. Unfortunately things didn't work out that way as my phone got stolen in London & when we joined our TopDeck tour it was literally impossible to get wifi anywhere!

I'm currently in Santorini eating some frozen yoghurt and mooching off their free wifi. It's our last day of our whole entire holiday! Tomorrow we start our 3 day journey home and I'm equal parts sad and excited! Sad because I have to leave my holiday bliss and excited because I will finally have my own bed and shower and space!

When I got home and get back into the swing of things, y'all can 110% expect so many posts about the trip and what we got up to. I did keep a travel journal so there's no chance I'll leave anything out! I also did a lot of shopping so I may do seperate posts for those. Who knows!

Okay, I'm off to get a manicure X

TRAVEL DIARY - ABU DHABI : Day 2

Hey yall. Today was our last full day here in Abu Dhabi and we had a fair bit planned.

It started with a city tour. Steph and I full thought it was gonna be like a big tour bus...we were wrong. We were literally driven around in a standard Lexus by the hotels private driver. It was so weird.
First we visited the Grand Mosque. We had to go in and hire the correct dress wear as we were not covering every inch of our skin. I would like to point out that it was a solid 45 degrees Celsius today too.

It's safe to say that we were sweating our arses off. The architecture of the mosque was simply amazing. It's just so massive and extravagant, it was really hard to process it and take it all in!

Next we headed to a museum. It was super weird. We got a guided tour and then half way through the guide was trying to sell us half the stuff. It was interesting. The only reason we didn't leave is because of THE AIR CONDITIONING.

After, we headed to a little villagey thing. At this point we were extremely hot, extremely tired and possibly even had heat stroke. We went in and I bought a coke to get a good sugar hit and it worked for about an hour and then I crashed (obviously, biology 101). We wandered and found the beach front and it was absolutely breath taking. The water was extremely blue and clear. I literally wanted to jump straight in it but you weren't allowed to swim in it!

Our driver then took us to a weird market where we stayed for a grand total of about five minutes then got him to take us back to our hotel. We were so tired and we really just wanted to chill in the aircon before our desert safari tour!

4pm rolls around and we get picked up in a big 4WD for our safari. We pick up 3 other people and head off. It took about an hour and a half to get where we needed to go. One thing I just can't seem to get over is how flat Abu Dhabi is! I'm not used to not seeing any mountains!

Anyhoo, steph and I were feeling quite sick beforehand but we tried not to pay attention to it. Once the desert safari begun, we instantly regretted it. The whole time it was a battle of trying not to throw up!!! It was absolutely horrible! I 100% thought I was going to throw up, but luckily neither of us did.

A combination of heat, tiredness and dehydration just made us want to go straight back the hotel! We couldn't of course. We had to sit through a sit down meal in the middle of the desert with belly dancers and what not. We were just so ready to leave.

Don't think for a second though that we didn't appreciate it, because we most certainly did. Not very often do these things happen.

Tomorrow afternoon we leave for London which we are both so so so excited about! So stay tuned for those posts too X

TRAVEL DIARY - ABU DHABI : Day 1

Hey yall! My European adventure has officially begun! Ahhhh. It was most definitely a long day of domestic flights in Australia, then one big 15hr flight to Abu Dhabi (which is where we are now).

We landed at 6am, Abu Dhabi time, and got picked up and taken straight to our hotel. It was super daunting at first because everyone we had spoke to so far didn't speak a word of English. We got to where we are staying for the next 2 nights and checked in. The lovely guys who served us upgraded us to a premium suite so we could get settled sooner! The customer service has been amazing so far!

We got up to our room, chucked everything down and let out the biggest sigh of relief. We finally made it! And we're still alive! After a 15hr flight, you can probably imagine how gross we felt and probably were! We jumped straight in the shower (not together obviously) and freshened up.

After our quick power nap, we decided to head off to Ferrari world for the day. That was also super stressful because our cab driver didn't speak English and he quite literally had no idea where he was going, which in the end only cost us more money for our cab fair. By the time we got to Ferrari world (at like 11:30), we were so exhausted and hot. It was a solid 43 degrees Celsius! We got straight in, took some photos and had the most delicious pizza at this quaint little Italian themed restaurant.

After our pizza we felt ready to go and started to cry ally do stuff! We went on this roller coaster twice and boy oh boy, did I feel extremely dizzy after getting off! Steph (my friend who I'm traveling with) tried to convince me to go on another roller coaster which also happened to be the worlds fastest roller coaster. She managed to get me in line and then I saw how high and steep it was and I said noooo thank you! Being the great friend I am, I left and she went on it alone. Sorry steph! However, she said it was amazing, so it was fine!

We then just wandered around and took photos of the lush ferraris for the rest of the arvo.

I am now currently sitting in my bed, typing this up on my phone and about to read my book. I cannot wait to be able to sleep in a bed and not in an uncomfortable plane seat!

SIDE NOTE:
Because I wore my most awesome trixin hat all day, I decided to take a photo and post it on Instagram tagging all the trixin crew. It most certainly made my night to see that not only did Bre & Derek Miller liked it, but Derek also decided to like some of my older photos that had nothing to do with him or trixin! That's right ladies and gents, Derek insta stalked me. Hehe
