P!NK - TRUTH ABOUT LOVE TOUR 2013

On friday (9th of August) I travelled up to the glorious Sydney to see P!nk that night! I decided to not let the day go to waste and I had myself a little retail therapy. Nothing beats retail therapy. I bought lots and lots of beauty products and some clothes but thats another post for another time....or blog even! Anyways back to the concert. The ticket said to be in the venue (Sydney Entertainment Centre...FAVE!) at 7.30pm and so we got there a little early to get some merch and drinks. I have never seen one person have so much merch ever! There was heaps of tshirts and posters and hoodies and she even sold onesies. We walked into the centre and got to our seats. When I got told what seats we had I was like 'Oh they're a bit crappy' but we got in there and they were actually really really good! It was also strange because I had never sat on that side of the venire before...I was always on the other side so it was cool seeing it from a different angle. The first thing you noticed was the spirally stage that went out into the crowd, but thats all you could see because the rest was behind a huge theatre curtain.

The Support act was an LA band by the name of Youngblood Hawke. When I first heard that they were the support act my first impression was 'Who?' but then when they came on stage they started to sound oddly familiar. They all came on, there was about 6 of them, and got straight into it. Nice and loud, just the way I like it. The lead Guy and Gal were jumping around like rabbits, banging on these drums and it was really cool! Their music was so fresh and different and I was really starting to get into it...they just kept getting better and better. The lead guy then said "This is our next song for you. It's called We Come Running" and then instantly, the penny dropped. I couldn't believe that it was them who sung that song. i had heard it on the radio before but I had never paid attention to who sung it! Anyways, I went crazy and they really got the crowd pumping!
A couple weeks previous, I had bought a really sweet 18.2MP camera and I ended up getting some really good photos of them but I had to keep deleting them because I forgot my memory card and I kept running out of space for P!nk snaps!

Youngblood Hawke left the stage and the lights came back on. The crowd were waiting and all of a sudden this guy came out of one of the entrances dressed like some circus host and started walking through the crowd and interacting with them. For example this guy ended up rubbing, licking and kissing this poor guys bald head and everyone could see it on the big screen. It was fairly obvious that he was part of P!nk's entourage especially when he went on stage and announced that he was our host for the night. He starts talking and then he asks someone to come up on stage. They have the cameras connected to the big screen and they're zooming around trying to find someone then all of a sudden he tells the cameras to stop! He then asks them to go back a couple of people and he says "There she is, thats the one I want"....aaaand it actually turns out to be none other than P!nk herself. God, she is such a crowd pleaser. The intro to 'Raise Your Glass' starts and she disappears, next this you know there's fireworks on stage and she pops up singing and dancing.

She then decides to connect herself to some acrobat stuff and bounce up and down whilst signing...she was simply amazing!

I'm only going to have a couple more photos because I have so many! If anyone wishes to see all the photos, I will put the link to the Facebook album where I have every photo from every concert I have been to. that may spoil the surprise for my future posts but oh well!

This what lied behind the curtain! It was amazeballs!

She really showed her flexibility with more acrobat stuff!

I really love this snap. I don't know why I just think it looks super cool! It just really encapsulates how much she interacts and loves her fans!

This was one of the last songs she sung. She was running around and dancing like a nut but it was beyond fantastic!

P!nk then left but came back out for an encore. She only performed one more song for us though and I was a little disappointed because she didn't sing "True Love" at all! But I suppose we're get what we're given, hey?! She clipped herself into this crazy spinny harness thing and launched herself over the whole crowd. It was phenomenal! She literally flew everywhere! I felt so lucky because she went straight over the top and around me and it was just purely amazing...I can't think of any better words!

At first I was thinking that this will just be another concert I can say I've been to and it won't be that great but boy, was I wrong! She was beyond brilliant! The love she has for her fans will be never ending. She made us laugh, sing (scream), dance and get our booty's shaking. I had an immensely fun night and this will be one of the concerts I will never forget!

I also took loads of videos. They were taken with my iPod though, they're still fairly good! Ive so far posted 2/12 on YouTube. Check them out here:

ED SHEERAN MADE ME CRY!!!

On the 1st of March this year, I had the pleasure of seeing the hot, ginger sex god, aka Ed Sheeran, live. He left me speechless. It was by far the best concert I have ever been to. To this day, I still have trouble remembering if it actually happened but lucky for me I have plenty of videos to remind myself that, yes, it was real! The show was at The Sydney Entertainment Centre (I will always say that this is the best venue ever because, well, it is) and Ed didn't get on stage till around 9pm so I decided to go to Sydney early in the morning and make a day of it and have a bit of retail therapy. God I love Sydney shopping. Anyways, all day I was getting myself hyped up for the show and I was bouncing around feeling on top of the world! I was so excited...I mean who wouldn't be excited to see their future husband in concert? Haha. I even ended up going to the venue early and waiting for the merch stand to open up so I could get first pick at everything! All his merch was so good by the way...good quality, top notch stuff!

Anyways, back to the show! The Support Support act was a young, lovely british girl who goes by the name of Gabrielle Aplin. She was phenomenal. When she sang, there was this pureness in her voice that made it all real and honest. By now, the mosh had started going crazy! There was this one group of people in the middle who were literally pushing their way to the front and everyone against the barriers were getting physically hurt. Lots of people that were at the front were having to be carried out because they were being crushed and one girl even had to leave in an ambulance. It's idiots like that that ruin the whole concert experience for other people! their own selfishness leaves other people injured and angry! At this point in time, security had to interrupt Gab's set to tell the mosh to settle down. They didn't. The mosh was getting worse, more and more people were having to be taken out and the idiots in the middle just obviously weren't getting the message. Until Gab stops half way through her song and tells them to chill out and she knows they're all here to see Ed but hurting people won't make him come out any faster! Good on her, I say! Anyways, she continued her set and she was amazing! Her songs were truthful and intimate and for a small person, she made her voice heard. As soon as I got home I downloaded all of her music. I have one word to describe it; Breathtaking. To this day, whenever I'm in a crappy mood, I crank up her song Salvation and it instantly makes me feel better. She's a Grade A act and she's exactly who you'd expect to touring with Ed!

The Support act was none other than the one and only Passenger. He was fantastic! He really knew how to work and manipulate the crowd, you could clearly tell that he'd been doing this for a while. His talking voice is almost the complete opposite to his singing voice...it's crazy! Passenger's set was very intimate and acoustic but at times he had the crowd up on their feet, joining in with the singing, dancing, laughing, screaming and he made sure we clapped till our hands were bright red! That night, he really owned the stage with his act and music. He got us ready and pumped for Ed and with his word, we knew we were in for a treat!

Not the best snaps, I know. I had some better ones somewhere but I can't find them on my computer!

I know I use this a lot, but close your eyes. Imagine the venue lights have dimmed and all you can hear is thousands of screams. Its black until Ed Sheeran jumps onto the stage, his trusty guitar in hand and all of a sudden it's just bright lights. He starts playing but the screams get louder so you can't exactly hear what song he's playing. That was all me. I still couldn't exactly here what he was playing until he started playing louder and thats when I realised he was playing my favourite song, Give Me Love. At the moment I jumped out of my seat and started recording this magical moment. About 10 seconds later I burst into tears...happy tears of course! I was so overwhelmed with what was going on. The fact that I was seeing one of my most loved music artists live and that he was opening with my favourite song all just became too much! It's actually a lot harder than you think crying but trying to sing along.

He then went onto play Drunk which was amazing and he played it soooo much faster than its recorded on the album. The crowd was so loud and i actually have brilliant video of this but i won't put it up because there's so much screaming...but it wasn't me, I was too busy singing!

He then played a very intimate set of U.N.I  which was pure brilliance! He got so involved with the crowd!

Just a quick snap of Ed and his tatts!

Ed then did the most amazing this I have ever seen. He used that famous loop pedal of his and he performed Wayfaring Stranger. The first half was with the mic, but the second half was completely acoustic....you could've heard a pin drop! After that I was so speechless. You could hear him perfectly in this massive venue and that just proves that his talent is endless!

He then played us Small Bump which was just as intimate as it sounds on the album. He made it so special and made the crowd feel so special for just being there when he sang it.

Ed then played a super duper intensely fast version of Grade 8. He didn't make it easy for us to keep up with the words but because everyone was such a dedicated fan, we did anyways!

Ed then brought Gab back onstage and they performed a beyond intimate version of Kiss Me. Ed had managed to get the crowd to shut up for 3-4 minutes whilst him and Gab played. He also explained that he wrote this song for his parents friends that had bent together for like 50 years or something like that...crazy I know! But how sweet of him!

He continued on to play us Gold Rush and that was a good, upbeat change of pace. He had everyone out of their seats singing along! It was fantastic!

He then went on to sing his smash hit, Lego House. I'm fairly sure for the whole song, all you could hear was the crowd singing a long...it was amazing.

Talk about an intense night! Ed put this fully sick twist on You Need me, I Don't Need You which ended up going on for about 20 minutes but it was great! He then got the whole crowd involved and divided us up into 2 groups and each team had a certain line they had to sing, then he made us sing it together and we had created our own little mash up!

Last, but not least, he came back out for an amazing encore and ended with his #1 hit, The A Team. I was, again, speechless. Such an intimate set and Ed got everyone to get out the phones or whatever and shine their light. It was amazing, I have never seen or heard a more beautiful thing ever. Pure bliss.

Unfortunately, it was the end of the show and we had to say goodbye and goodnight to the one person we had all came out to see. It was kind of a sad moment to know that he was leaving and that he couldn't stay on stage all night to entertain us!

Ed Sheeran's concert was the best concert I have ever been to. i have never felt so happy and satisfied at all in my life before. He really knows how to put on a show, get the crowd out of their seats, singing, dancing, crying. He has the cutest sense of humour and I will never forget this night. I have so many videos from this concert to remind me that the 1/3/2013 was in fact, the best night of my life. I have been contemplating uploading these videos to YouTube to share with everyone but I would definitely need to edit them! I rate this live show an infinity/10. This night will forever be in my heart  and if you ever get the chance to see Ed live, take it. You definitely won't regret it.

That One Time Adam Levine Stripped On Stage - (Maroon 5 2012) !

Okay, so, the title may have been a little misleading. Sorry. Well Yes, I did go and see Maroon 5 but Adam didn't strip....fully. HE DID TAKE HIS SHIRT OFF *cue drooling*

The Support Support act for M5 were a vegas band called The Cab. Holy Moly. They were so loud, I could literally feel the bass through my chest! They were awesome though! Those boys were loud and got us so pumped up. I would highly recommend listening to some of their music, you won't be disappointed!

 The Cab rocking the stage.

If you read my Matchbox 20 post, it was Evermore who stole the stage for the main support act. Again, I can't say much more than I already have apart from they really just know how to get a crowd pumping!

Intimate song with Evermore.

Maroon 5 punch onto stage blasting their brilliant songs. Shortly after they played 'Lucky Strike' which is one of my favourite songs of theres...ever. They lights where going crazy and the whole atmosphere of the show just grew from there. Check out what I mean in the snap below!

Maroon 5 are absolutely amazing in concert. They interact with the crowd and get everyone off their feet; jumping and dancing around!

Adam looking sexy.

To top it off, for the encore songs, they had a massive disco ball come down from the roof and it was purely breath taking. Just seeing the crowd light up and the added effect of the disco ball...words cannot describe who much the crowd's cheers intensified. Just amazing.

"Thank you Sydney, we love you".

5SOS, Cher Lloyd & Hot Chelle Rae All In One Night!

"I got you front row seats to Hot Chelle Rae" said my mum when I got home from school. I almost died. I got so so so so excited only to find out that they were playing at the National Convention Centre which is the smallest venue ever (and where I saw Hilary Duff!) and what made it worse was that it was a free admission mosh pit. Worst feeling ever.

The Support Support act was 5 Seconds Of Summer (5SOS) and they were quite new to scene back then, so not many people had heard of them. They were more YouTube famous more than anything but boy their music was/is amazing. They blew us all away with how incredible their talent was/is and now look at them; world tour with One Direction....doesn't get much better than that! They have worked so hard to get to where they are and as a fan, I'm proud.

You can see Luke's muscles from even this far away......what.

The Support act was Cher Lloyd. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any photos of her for two reasons: 1. I was in the mosh pit for most of it & 2. My camera ran out of battery because I'm stupid and forgot to charge it. RULE NUMBER ONE WHEN GOING TO A CONCERT: ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR CAMERA IS CHARGED THE NIGHT BEFORE!

Before Hot Chelle Rae themselves came onto the stage, the HCR Bear decided to come out for a bit. The HCR Bear was someone who was dressed in a bear costume wearing a HCR tshirt over the top. That person, whoever it was, really just interacted with the crowd and got us pumped up for HCR.

Suddenly all of the lights start to flicker all different colours then before you know it everyones screaming and HCR are onstage! They had us screaming from the get go and I was on my feet dancing all night!

Now, keep in mind, this is when my camera had died so the rest of these snaps are from my phone. So if they're dodgy quality, you know why!

Ryan & Nash just chatting. The mosh was wild! But because I'm a short ass, I preferred to dance and sing and enjoy myself where I could actually see the stage!

You can even see Ryan's bow tie!

When this tour was commencing, they only had a single album at the time which made the show really short and they didn't actually come back out on stage for an encore which i found weird because every other concert I had been to had had a mad encore to end the night with. Overall though, it was a fantastic night, a bit surreal actually. To this day I still have trouble remembering if this even happened or not! They really put on a show for the crowd and I would definitely go and see them again!

Matchbox 20 - VIP EXPERIENCE (2012)

Matchbox 20. Common household name, right?

Well, in the lovely year of, well last year, my dear mother kindly bought myself and her VIP tickets to see Matchbox 20. The VIP tickets themselves were $500 each AND DID NOT include actual concert admission. Altogether my poor mum ended up spending over $1000 just to see her favourite band, but was it worth it? The show itself was most definitely worth it but I will get to the in a second. Although $500 each for VIP entry plus a 'goodies bag' was definitely not worth it.

We were told to arrive at the venue early so we could pick up our goodies bag. We got there when we were supposed to and we forced to wait another hour because the merch people hadn't even arrived yet. After the waiting we went up to collect our goodies bad only to go through and find out that half the merch we were promised we didn't even get. What we ended up taking home was a poster, a wristband/USB (which actually didn't work so we had to get the company to resend ours later), a VIP lanyard and their latest album, North. So after the poor excuse for a goodie bag we thought the meet and great would have to be spectacular! Well, guess what? It wasn't. There were about 15 of us that had actually bought the VIP tickets but we, rudely, got told that we had to wait for another half an hour to meet them because other people, who had won the tickets via the local radio station, got to go in first. Talk about uncool.

We eventually were in the line to meet them. I kid you not, we were pushed and pulled in and out of that room they were in so fast I barely remember it. We basically said "Hi", shook hands, got a photo and left. Biggest waste of money and the photo isn't even nice! Probably the worst photo of me ever...therefore, it will not be featured on this post!

Anyways, on to the show!
The Support Support act was a pretty well-known Aussie band, Evermore. That was the second time I had seen them as I saw them a week beforehand at Maroon 5's concert (stay tuned!) They are extremely good live and know how to own the stage. Their music is definitely soulful and full of truth!

The 2nd support act was, you know, just a casual band, INXS...I wonder if you've heard of them, LOL. They pretty much speak for themselves. There's really not much more i can say about them apart from they really got us going and were so interactive with the crowd...literally!

Finally Matchbox 20 came on stage and boy can they put on a show. This was the 2nd time i had seen them in concert; I saw them about 6 years earlier and they were almost as amazing as they were this time around! They were beyond amazing. Rob was excellent at getting the crowd up, moving and singing their hearts out and you could tell he was enjoying himself from the huge sweat patches...or maybe they were just from the lights. Yeap, definitely the lights! They really owned the night. The encore was definitely the best part of the show and they came back on stage louder than ever and raring to go!

Rob is clearly enjoying himself whilst performing "She's So Mean"

Nothing beats a good mosh!

Encore time! "Goodnight Canberra, We Love You"

Hilary Duff: Canberra 2005 & Brisbane 2008 - THROWBACK!

Hilary Duff.....where to start?! When i was about 7, I fell in love with Hilary Duff, but not in a lesbian way, haha! She was pretty much my life up until I was 13 and i then discovered The Jonas Brothers! She is still currently my role model in life and I still have every single one of her albums/singles and the hundreds of posters I collected.

When i was 9 I went to her concert in my home town Canberra, Australia. It was at the National Convention Centre, which after seeing Hot Chelle Rae there last year (there will be a post on them too!), is quite a small venue, but when I was that age I thought it was huge. From memory, it was extremely loud from all the screaming girls...and yes I was one of them. I remember singing along to every song and getting looks from the girl sitting next to me because she didn't know all the words and I did. I would now just like to say "HAH! SUCKED IN" to that girl.

Now, this was before I even owned a camera, so I actually stole this photo from my best friend (If you're reading this: SOZ). I dug up this pic this afternoon and I couldn't scan it or anything so what better way to take a photo of a photo.

I definitely remember buying this shirt and I wore it everywhere. It was my favourite shirt for years and I still have it! (Sorry for the poor quality pic).

3 Years later I went to see her Dignity Tour in Brisbane. I was staying with my dad at the time and I was getting so excited because my step mum was supposed to take me and she's super cool and I was getting so hyped and then my little sister decides to get sick so my dad had to take me....HOW LAME! I was so upset and angry and i really didn't enjoy myself, all because i was there with my dad! Anyways, I had scored seated floor tickets and i was so close! I remember standing on my chair dancing the whole time. It turned out to be a hoot!

This has got to be the blog with the worst photos ever! I managed to dig this ticket up and take a photo but i had no clue how to flip it or whatever!

To this day i still love Hilary Duff, I still think she is amazing.

Stick around for my post later tonight on my time at the Lady Gaga concert (2010)!

Saturday 3 August 2013

Current Concert Countdowns!

Here are my current concert countdowns! I will be posting 2 more posts tonight featuring Lady Gaga and Hilary Duff!

P!nk: 5 DAYS!

Fall Out Boy: 82 DAYS, 5 HOURS AND 1 MINUTE!

One Direction: 83 DAYS, 4 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES!

Come back to stay updated on all my future concerts :)

That One Time I Went to Good Charlotte...

In the lovely year of 2011 I had the pleasure of seeing Good Charlotte live. They were, by far, the loudest concert i have ever attended and its pure brilliance! After the show, when you're walking out of the venue and you're shouting at people because you can't actually hear, and the satisfaction that comes with it, that has got to be the best feeling ever.

So for this post I only have photos because this was before I invested in a proper camera that can record good videos!

The Support Support Band (you'll understand why I'm saying that in a second) was this small town Sydney band, New Empire. They were new to the music scene back then, and you know how it is, you always think that they're going to be boring and suck and you're just going to want to get them off the stage. Well this was not the case for New Empire. While, yes, they had trouble engaging with the crowd and getting us involved, their music said it all. They were amazing. They had the perfect mixture of up-beat tracks and slow, intimate ones. They currently hold the top 5 spots on my iTunes for the most played songs. I HIGHLY recommend these Aussie lads, they won't disappoint!
New Empire Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/newempireband?fref=ts
New Empire Twitter: https://twitter.com/newempireband

This is possibly the worst photo ever, but come on, it was a smokey venue! Now this is the Support Band (get it now?), Short Stack. In 2011 this group of 3 Sydney lads were quite well known. Pretty much everyone knew who they were, whether they liked them or not. They were quite familiar with how gigs work and so they had us up in our seats with no effort. The lead singer, Shaun Diviney, pretty much seemed to hog the stage which took away from Andy (Guitarist)  and Bradie (Drummer), but that didn't stop them from rocking their show! These guys tend to sound better on your iPod then live, but none the less, they're still great. Since then, the band has split but Shaun Diviney has pursued his own solo career which seems to be going smoothly.
Shaun Diviney Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/divineymusic?fref=ts
Shaun Diviney Twitter: https://twitter.com/ShaunDiviney

Close your eyes. Shut out all sound. Now imagine you're in a concert venue, the lights dim after the support act goes off stage, the crowd roars, then up pops the one and only Good Charlotte. Opening with your favourite song, rocking the stage immediately, your ear drums are nearly bursting. Open your eyes. That's exact how I felt when they first appeared on the red and yellow lit stage with the big GC backdrop. This feeling continued for the whole 2.5hr concert. The rush of adrenaline and excitement you get tops any other feeling, EVER. I had the time of my life at this concert; dancing, singing (well screaming) and just genuinely enjoying myself. GC really know how to interact with the crowd and get everyone out of their seats jumping and fist pumping along to their hit tracks.

This is probably one of my favourite photos i have taken, ever. I love how the atmosphere of not only the crowd but Joel as well, is captured in a single photo. I think this snap just says so much about music itself and the experiences everyone has.

Nothing beats the view of that rocking band with bright lights and killer mosh!

"Goodnight Canberra, we love you".
